Ready to start playing?
Dear All,
We finally managed to complete a full Snooker & Blliards season - HURRAH!
Fortunately the Association didn't lose many teams from pre-pandemic numbers, which is very reassuring when you consider the effect Covid has had in other sports.
The familiar faces in Robert Read and Matt Peaker won the Snooker and Billiards Championships respectively; but we had a new Veterans Champion in Terry Blackburn, a new Billiards Handicap winner in Sam Redfearn, a new Snooker Handicap winner in Paul Schofield and a new Junior Champion in Harrison Quarmby. Well done and congratulations to all of these players in winning their first individual trophies in our League.
Finally I must mention the impending retirement of Pete Gilbert at the end of the forthcoming season. Pete has worked tirelessly over the years, building and maintaining the Leagues Website. In recognition of his services we have purchased a new Trophy, named in his honour, to be presented to the Veterans League Championship winners annually.
Good luck to all for the forthcoming season.
All the best.
Tony Clegg
